 This tour takes visitors from San Juan to Northwestern parts of Puerto Rico, which includes the third largest underground river cavern system in the world. Visitors can enjoy an adventurous tour of the natural marvels, from sinkholes and large caverns, views of the mysterious river and its eons-old stalactites and stalagmites which are a natural process. It is recommended to wear non-slippery shoes for visitors. The tour starts by a short movie presentation explaining the caves and its sources followed by a tour around the park in a trolley.Unlike other caves in colder countries these caves exhibit sunshine and greenery reminding you of a scene from the book 20,000 Leagues under the Sea.
This tour also includes a visit to the largest radar/radio telescope. Operated by Cornell University, and the telescope helps to probe the ionosphere, examines planets, and monitoring natural radio emissions from distant galaxies, pulsars, and quasars. If there were an alien battleship that was planning to hover around our galaxy, let's just say the chances are that it would be tracked down through this telescope.
This is half day trip that may be approximately taking 6 hours with the schedule starting time, from the San Juan Hotel being at 8:00am. From other hotels, the scheduled departure and arrival time for Camuy Caverns Radiotelescope Tour will be arranged in accordance to the group's characteristics such as number of people, purpose of visit and other requirements.
